“Dear All,

My name is Ines Stasa and I originally chose to attend PhD Programme in Political Science and International Relations at Epoka University. 

My current work is that of Regional Director of State Social Service in Vlore District, wherein I have spent 4 years of my life, being in charge and taking responsibilities to management of social cases and monitoring standards of service providers to children and other groups in need.   In the meantime, I have established proper knowledge on the field and decided to be challenged further by improving my expertise skills.  That is the main reason I decided to invest my future career on preventing domestic violence and evaluating the child protection system in Albania, while there have been identified serious law enforcement steps on the ground.

I have always thought and believed that no matter how passionate you are in any field, because what matters is the path you choose to be guided. I have walked on that path hence my Master’s studies. Epoka University led me to where I needed to be headed by bringing together the professional, appropriate curricula, the amazing academic life and the approach you cannot find anywhere else.

I am excited to join again Epoka team and thankful for their daily investment at Albanian Education system.”

The Scientific Committee of Political Science and International Relations Department under the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences evaluated the applications on a competitive basis, by also holding the respective interviews and decided on the accepted candidates based on the five available quotas for the 2017-2018 academic year. Based on the provisions of the Epoka University PhD regulation, the Council of Professors (Permanent Commission on the Conferring of the “PhD” degree) is the principal responsible unit for the organization and conduct of doctoral (PhD). 

In this context, on November 3, 2017 a meeting was held in the focus starting Doctorate enrollments of Faculty PhD study program for 2017-2018 academic year. After evaluation of all candidates’ documents Council decided to accept four below listed students based on the national available quota for the 2017-2018 academic year in Political Science and International Relations PhD study program:

1. Ines Stasa – PhD in Political Science and International Relations; 

2. Alisa Limaj - PhD in Political Science and International Relations;  

3. Albana Çekrezi - PhD in Political Science and International Relations; 

4. Hysni Skura - PhD in Political Science and International Relations.

This program`s national quota for 2017-2018 academic year is met 100%.

About PhD program (brief): The PhD Program in Political Science and International Relations aims at following the universal approaches in the disciplines of both Political Science and International Relations and also handling academically the conditions and problems peculiar to Albania, Balkans, and European Union and wider. The aim of the PhD program in Political Science and International Relations is to prepare academicians and experts with specialized knowledge in their fields of interest. The subfields include International Relations, Political Science, European Studies, Balkan Studies and Albanian Politics.
